Teacher Costumes for Halloween
Do you have a teacher costume that you get to wear to school for Halloween? Maybe you get to be your favorite book character. I always loved dress up days when I was teaching. Yes, I know, as a parent, dress up days can be stressful but the kids have so much fun. It’s totally worth it!
We asked on Kreative in Life’s amazing Facebook page last week for our teachers to share their favorite costumes and y’all did not disappoint! Spice Girls (actual cooking spices), Shark Week (what a cool idea for their team), The Tired Teacher (she just needs two different shoes lol) and of course Miss Frizzle all showed up in this feed and it was awesome.
Check out these amazing teacher costumes!
Thanks to everyone that shared your pictures! I love the creativity and enthusiasm each of these teachers have. When we have fun, kids have fun! Even if you can’t dress up, there’s still an opportunity to provide a fun experience.
At my last school, the week before Halloween, we sent home a paper plate with each kindergarten student. It was the “Paper Plate HAT Project.” Each student created a hat with their family and brought it back to school on Halloween or the Friday before if it was on a weekend.
On Halloween, we would have a Hilarious Hat Parade and all kindergarten students would walk the hallways (that were lined with 1st-5th grade students) waving and showing off their hats. We played Monster Mash over the intercom and everyone loved it. The older kids love the tradition too. If a student didn’t bring a hat to school, we whipped one up real quick. Some of the hats were super extravagant and others were just colored. It didn’t matter. Everyone had fun!
Do you have a pumpkin contest? Our librarian had a really awesome book character pumpkin contest a few times and we loved walking by the display each day. You can check them out here. Ahhh, I love fall!
So, do you dress up for Halloween at school?
Happy teaching!
