Do you regularly take time out of your week to take care of yourself? Self care is extremely important to your health. With it, you will feel happier and healthier. Without it, you can feel the negative effects of stress. Here are a few reasons why you should make self care a priority in your life.
Stress Management
Life can be stressful. You have to take care of your family, go grocery shopping, work, make dinner… the list is endless! This daily stress can take its toll on your body. Self care can help you manage that stress. When you take care of yourself, you’re giving your body a chance to relax and unwind. This is sure to keep stress to a minimum. I also like to read scripture that helps me in areas where I am struggling. Lately, it's been anxiety so I read these cards. I also have regular conversations with my doctor about my health to make sure I am taking care of my physical and mental health.
Confidence
After a day at the spa or a makeover, you will notice that you have a boost in confidence. The act of self care will make you feel good about yourself, which leads to higher confidence. This in turn has a positive effect on all aspects of your life, including your relationships and even your work.
Focus
When your brain gets too bogged down and tired, it can be hard to focus on what needs to be done. You don’t have the energy or stamina for important tasks. Self care, however, can change that! By pampering yourself, you give your body a break from all of the demands placed on you. This break gives you some much needed perspective, which in turn, helps you focus better.
Health
Each of these benefits of self care has something in common – your health. You will have a positive effect on your health, whether it’s making you feel more rested, confident, or focused. Too much stress and too little self care can cause you to feel worn out, get sick more easily, or even cause depression. Self care, on the other hand, will help you feel happier and healthier.
