Just curious…I really, really, REALLY want to go to Frog Street Press' SPLASH convention in Dallas this July! There are so many AMAZING presenters! I wanted to go last year but couldn't afford it. Again, this year I am dying to go. Here are my hold-ups:
1.PRICE!!!!
2. I would be going solo and even though I consider myself a social person, I hate the idea of going by myself, not knowing anyone.
3. I don't really know anyone who has ever gone, so I am just assuming that it is the most Fantabulous thing ever, but it is really?
So, have you gone? Are you going? Can you fit me in your suitcase? Haha! Want to plan a summer blog party and meet up at Splash?!!!
For awhile I left the classroom and took an administrative position in our district's Curriculum and Instruction dept. I had to go to many conferences by myself, and SO dreaded it the first few times. BUT, the best thing about going to conferences designed for teachers (especially teachers of younger children) is that most people are SO friendly and welcoming. I would encourage you to go if you find you are financially able—I know you'll be surprised at what a fantastic time you'll have! 🙂 There will be so many kind and fun people there who are also there by themselves…. 🙂 You'll be glad you went!
Hi! I am a pre-k teacher from northeastern oklahoma. I went to FSP Splash last year and had a blast. I am going this year with three other friends. Would love to meet up with you at the conference. I am new to the blog world. I have a blog set up, but do not really know how to get started…adding pictures of my classroom and such. Would love to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I have been blog stalking hehe for some time. I would love to post some of my own ideas to share with others. This will be my 11th year to teach. I have taught 1st, kindergarten, and Pre-K. We currently use FSP in our Pre-K classrooms. I like to make my own games using their clipart. Hope to hear from you. Debra

I will be there. I am presenting the last day! It is sooooo awesome. Last year I went and I didn't know anyone either and at the dinner, out of all the tables I could have been seated at, it ended up that some of the teachers and I had the same friends who were teachers. Crazy. It is so much fun. If you can go, definitely do it. You will love it!

We will both be at SPLASH in Dallas. This will be our 6th year to go!!! It is incredible! There are always so many great presenters and we always leave recharged…to say the least!!! You should so go!!!
I soooooooo want to go! I want to go to the I Teach K conference too but I don't know anyone and they are both a long way from upstate NY. Know anyone in the airline industry that can score us some cheap flights?

I just came across your blog and will make sure to check back periodically. I just went to Frog Street 2013. This is my 4 year attending and this year was better than ever. The presenter Lisa Murphy was a hit and all of her ideas and outrageous takes on how we handle our classroom were hilarious. I wanted to just sit and hear her all day. I would strongly recommend it and you don't have to bring a friend. I go every year solo. Next year it will be in San Antonio so trying to figure out my expenses for next year.
