Okay peeps…I want to know what exactly you are teaching right now. J I am working on my Thanksgiving Unit and Farm Unit, among other goodies including upcoming freebies, and I am totally curious about what you are teaching in your classrooms. When I create something, I create it with MY students and my lesson plans in mind, but that may not be beneficial to you. So, here’s your chance to throw in a special request. What literacy or math concepts or centers do you want a thematic idea, game, or printable for? What are you teaching in science next month that you need an experiment or printable for? If I use your suggestion to create something and add it to the packets, I will send you the whole packet for free. I’m totally out of control too because my last packet was over 100 pages. LOL! THANKS for your feedback. I hope you checked in yesterday and got all of the great freebies from a few of my favorite bloggers. J Have a great day!!

Happy Sunday…we are wrapping up our monsters theme. This year, I am teaching 2 themes a month. Each theme is for 2 weeks. I am LOVING it! It was hard to only pick 2 themes in October with all the fun things you can do (spiders, bats, ghosts, skeletons, etc.)! Next month our themes will be pumpkins and scarecrows. Thanks for everything you do and share!

In November, aside from Thanksgiving, I do a big unit on Community Helpers. I've found some stuff of TpT but most of it seems to be just "fireman" geared for Fire Week. I'm wanting something more broad…that has to do with lots of helpers (doctors, nurses, firemen, mailmen, etc). I'd love to see you come up with something for that unit!!
Thanks-
Erin

We are always working on number sense. My top kids will be working on numbers greater than 10 and different ways to make 10. But we are taking a short break from number sense in November to work on measurement. As for reading, we are always working on initial, ending sounds, syllables, manipulation of sounds (changing the first sound, etc)

We are working on comparing/contrasting reading selections. Some sort of printable (tree map?) would be helpful. We've just begun blending, too. vhair61215@gmail.com

In science we just started day/night sky, so we are learning about the sun and moon (phases, etc). In reading we are reviewing beginning sounds and syllables and starting on blending.

For November I am teaching a unit on Spiders and Fall. I teach at a year round school so I am always a little bit ahead. Intersession is now so I am hoping to catch up with the blogging world and get to use some of the things I keep saving for next year!
I am excited for anything you create! I did your apples unit and the kids were in LOVE with it before break!

We are working with magnets in science and attributes, sorting, 2 dimensional shapes in math.
Cindy Nehrbass says
We will start with a farm unit. Thanksgiving is next with a short program for the parents with Thanksgiving songs. Science is all about how things move. in math number sense is our focus and writing numerals 0-20. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Mrs. Payton says
I just finished up pumpkins and I'm doing bats and spiders this coming week. The next week I'm doing Halloween and Science Inquiry (a science notebook on mixing colors and measurement activities) and then I'll be on Thanksgiving and Turkeys for the rest of the month. Can't believe it's almost November!

I am looking for some Veterans Day ideas.. it is hard to find something that is geared towards Kdg. Any ideas?
Laurie Bradshaw says
We are doing pumpkins right now and will be doing Pilgrims and Indians and Turkeys all of November. I have had a hard time finding pilgrim and Indian ideas, activities. So a unit with that would be great. I love when a unit has response sheets for the activities that incorporate math and reading.
