I have had the privilege of being mentored by some of the best teachers, but Crystal tops the list! Her wonderful guidance has helped me to create products for you to use in the classroom. Today, I am going to show you how I used one of them with my sweet kinder littles!
We have been spending A LOT-I mean a hu-mon-go amount of time-on addition and subtraction. My kiddos we becoming bored and restless so I created a new product for addition. You can grab your copy by clicking on the link below.
This math station put the kiddos knowledge of adding into play. Take a look. The children had arranged the numbers on the flowers in numerical order, 0-10.
Next, they removed all the number sentences and laid them in a scatter so that all my littles could reach them.
Then, they began to solve the problems and place the equation on the correct number's flower petal.
I have taught them to use their “tools” for math. These high tech, high cost tools just may be too much for your budget, but I wanted to show you anyway. Take a look–
Some of my kiddos like to use ten rods made with cubes to count too.
Using these wonderful, go-anywhere tools, they solved their problems and the flower petals became covered with number sentences.
I was able to check the activity for accuracy and miscalculation-misconceptions quickly. ~~AND DON'T WE ALL LOVE THE QUICK ASSESSMENTS!
Well, that about wraps up the current week. But I do want to share a quick little freebie you may not be aware of….and it's from Crystal!! Check it out…it is my favorite little Siamese cat who thinks he is a dog!!
