Incredibles 2 opens in theaters June 15th and we have been waiting since 2004 for this exciting sequel. Our family fell in love with the first Incredibles and even though we have all, ehem, aged a little, we are still thrilled to head to the theater for this much anticipated movie release. Check out this preview:
What’s a good movie without a fun craft activity? Kids love to paint and this activity is adorable.
SUPPLIES
Canvas
Paint
Paint Brush
Scissors
Glue
Black Marker
Black & White Cardstock.
INSTRUCTIONS
Paint your child’s hand with red, black and yellow paint. (refer to the photo) Make sure they keep their hand open to avoid smearing the paint.
Press your child’s hand down firmly onto the canvas towards the bottom.
Help your child gently lift their hand off the canvas to avoid smearing the paint.
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Repeat the steps above but this time, replace the yellow paint with orange paint. (refer to the photo)
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Paint your child’s hand with brown, black and flesh toned paint. (refer to the photo) Make sure they keep their hand open to avoid smearing the paint.
Turn the canvas around.
Press your child’s hand down firmly onto the canvas gently overlapping the first handprint just a little bit.
Help your child gently lift their hand off the canvas to avoid smearing the paint.
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Repeat the steps above but this time, replace the brown paint with yellow paint and leave the thumb paint free. (refer to the photo)
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Cut small half circles from white cardstock. Glue them onto the face masks.
Dip the end of a paintbrush into black paint and add an eye to the center of the half circle. Allow the paint to dry completely.
Repeat this with white paint but make sure the spot is smaller.
Dip your child’s finger into pink paint and dab a little onto their cheeks!
Use a fine tip black marker to add a mouth, chin, nose and eyebrows.
Cut an oval from black cardstock and glue onto the center of their chest.
Paint the Incredibles logo onto it. (refer to the photo) Allow the paint to dry completely.
(if you’d like, you could also grab a Incredibles logo, print out and glue in place of painting one)
Your Incredibles handprint craft is complete! What an absolutely adorable keepsake gift.
