Got energy?
Yeah, me neither. Haha! Well, I do have this little ditty I finished last
weekend but for the life of me I didn't have the energy (no pun intended) to
blog about it. We start this month long unit tomorrow and I’m excited about it.
Does that make me lame? Probably. I am totally pumped to make all new science
units this year. I am bound and determined to my little peeps genius scientists. You can click the pictures to learn more about this unit.

I can’t believe that October is almost over. This year is flying by.
Did I tell you that I currently only have 18 students? It is night and day from
last year’s 24. Night. And. Day. I’m seriously lovin this year. Like, BIG PUFFY HEART
LOVE it. I don’t think the big
cheeses realize how much and extra table or two extra groups of kids really
changes the classroom dynamic and limits learning.

Next week is PUMPKIN WEEK and I am super
stoked about that. I have everything printed and ready to go for our annual Pumpkin Palooza. This week
we will also send home a paper plate for our Hilarious Hat Parade we do on
Halloween. We don’t necessarily celebrate Halloween at school. Kids can’t dress
up and the last thing we want is to give them more candy..but, we do have a Hilarious Hat
Parade. We give each student
a paper plate and ask their parents to help them make a hat for the parade. The
hats are always so funny. It’s amazing to see what they turn a paper plate in
to. Halloween morning, we walk through the school going through all the halls,
showing of four hats. Only kinder is in the parade but all grades watch and
wave. It’s totally fun.

This week was all kinds of nutso. I’m sure you
felt it too. It’s finally getting chilly here in Texas and the kids are off
their rockers. I told my teaching partner Friday that it was a crazy F’n day. You naughty little teacher. I did not say
any bad words. I actually severely dislike the infamous “F-word”. Anywho, our Friday was filled with Full-moon crazy kids, Fire truck visit, and it was Freezing. Yeah, those are my not so
favorite F words. Although, I do love Friday,
Friends, Family and Food. Haha!

Saturday morning I was up at 5:00 a.m…too flipping early! My daughter
had her last band competition (can I get and Amen, hallelujah) and some of the
color guard girls stayed the night after the game Friday night. The rest came
over around 5:30. I did all of the girls’ makeup and my niece did their hair. I
always enjoy being there for her extra-curricular activities but I am kinda
ready to have my weekends back. She has color guard 5-6 days a week and it’s a
little exhausting (and I’m not the one tossing and catching the flag). She is not
the only one with a redonkulous schedule. My
oldest son plays in the drum line and my youngest son is the aquatics engineer.
Yes, you read that correctly. That is what the football program says. He is the
“water boy” for the middle school. It makes my mommy heart so proud! That job
may mortify many parents because who doesn't want their son to be a football
star but my sweet boy really can’t play sports so well. He has mild aspergers and
marches to his own drum. This is probably the only way he will ever be a part
of a team and he LOVES it. He takes jobs very seriously so of course he is the
bestest water boy in the history of water boys. We go to the games to support
him. He wears a jersey and he always reminds me of his number so I know
how to find him. Lol. Love that kid!

Oh, you know…we are always putting the fun in dysfunctional but I wouldn't have it any other way. Oh, and let me tell you. My daughter’s
boyfriend called me Mom #2 on Friday. I’m not sure how I feel about this. Grace
will be 17 in December. As you know, we adopted. I am 33. I was thinking about
this whole age thing/ boyfriend thing this morning and the idea
that I could actually be a mother-in-law in a few years and well, it was too
early to drink! Y’all know I am still trying to have a baby but I had never
thought that what if I am a grandma in a few years too. I mean, we got married at
21. If Grace followed in our footsteps, that is in five years. Holy guacamole
(that is the nicest word I could think of)! Don’t you love how I
am just spewing my drama here today?!! I’m going to blame it on hormones and
probably treat myself to a glass of wine since it’s the afternoon now. Haha! Must.
Not. Over. Think. My. Hot. Mess. Life.

Well, that’s all I got for today. Have a great week! Here is a little Spider dice game
freebie to play this week. Click HERE or the game below to download it. Give each student a die and a counter. Have them roll the die, move the counter, and say the number they land on. If two students play, let them race to 100 doing the same things. They love it! If you want to see the full unit, just click the picture.

Oh, and if you really are looking for energy (they physical body kind haha), check out my sister's advocare page. I drink SPARK every day and it creates an instant human. She also posts tons of healthy recipes and tips on her FB page. 🙂
Love and virtual hugs!
