Greetings friends. I just finished my third week of
kindergarten. Can I be honest and tell you that I feel like I have done week
one three times now? I don’t like
leaving the classroom because I never know how it’s going to go down. Some
days, man we are on it. Other days, I open up the door and they run out like
they are escaping the zoo..meanwhile I am running behind them telling them to
stop running {and screaming}. That’s normal right? I mean, there is no tired
like first week of school tired but this is like Groundhog Day people. (I do not love
that movie by the way.)
better. It just has to. This is the pep talk I have with myself a thousand
times a day. They really are a sweet group and have such fun little personalities.
My teammates and I keep asking ourselves… “Is it like this every year and we
just forget?”. How is that possible? And then we eat brownies. Lots of them.
I’m always willing to embrace my hot mess self with humor so I thought it would be fun to write a
letter to my future self. I am printing it out and putting it with my back to school
file. Apparently my memory and brain
escape me each August and I simply forget.
I’m walking the plank here and trying to stay afloat. I am filled with
hope though. I know we will get there. Baby steps.
reminding you what the beginning of the year is like. Share something funny or
memorable. “Remember that day that kid peed on the tree on the playground?
Yeah, let’s hope that doesn’t happen this year!”. There are no rules except to post your
letter, the button, and link up. Please do not include any products in your

on the picture you want and save it. Then, open it up in powerpoint and add text
on top of it. Easy peasy.
I can’t wait to see what advice you will give
yourself for next year. I may even
attach a gift card to my letter to the store where I buy my wine, I mean brownies, for next year.
Haha!
I hope your year is going great and if you are on the roller coaster with
me, hang in there and press on!
What a great idea! I forgot too how hard the beginning of the school year can be. I will be writing myself a letter this week….after I get down with Open House tomorrow night.
Rambling About Reading
Thanks for sharing your somewhat frazzled and exhausted self! I feel like that for many many weeks and can feel frustrated at times because it seems other teachers get it together so quickly! I appreciate your reminder that it takes time and I love that you told yourself not to feel guilty for being firm. It will all come together! Good luck with your next week!
Such a fantastic idea! It not only gave future-me some advice, but also provided me the opportunity to really sit down and reflect on the progress we've made since day one.

Thanks for sharing your idea and making it a linky party! I really enjoyed reflecting on my time thus far and giving the future me advice. Thanks!
I love this idea! Like you said, we seem to forget what the beginning of the year is like until it comes back around. This will totally be a reminder and a motivator. Thank you!
