Need Stuff For Your Classroom? How about Free stuff??

Oh my goodness friends. There is so much I want to share with you
about my adventures this month. I’m still trying to wrap my head around
everything I learned and figure out how to best present that information to
others. J I will be attacking my classroom this
week. I am on a mission to get it done. Next week I will be in training allllll week.  I’m pretty sure my head will
explode! Then, I have four more days to pull said head out of rear and get back on
contract. Summer is OVER. Dun dun dunnnn. I remember saying in May, “I don’t think
I will travel this summer!” Bwhahaha! Yeah, totally didn’t happen.  I loved every minute of my summer though. I didn’t create much but I spent a TON of time with my kiddos and that is

Now that I am in back to school mode, my “To do” list is ten miles
long. So is my “To get” list. Seriously, people have no idea how much teachers
spend on their students and classroom.  Luckily, I have my Kreative in Kinder fund to
use so we don’t have to eat ramen noodles for a month to pay for back to
school. LOL. (Thanks for making that fund possible!)
I was so excited when School Outfitters contacted me and very
generously offered to give me $100 to spend in my classroom. That’s not the
best part though! I get to give away a $100 gift card to School Outfitters to
one of my followers! YAY!!!  
So, what did I NEED? I really wanted a sensory table so this baby is
on its way to my school.  

Since my son has had tons of sensory and fine motor issues, this is
something that I firmly believe should be a part of every classroom. I know
reading and writing are super important but if kids can’t hold a pencil or a
book, there is no starting place for success.

The first two weeks of school I do fine motor centers. I think this
was critical for my kids’ success last year. It taught them important things
like sharing, rotating, restoring classroom materials, but it also helped them
prepare their fingers to hold a pencil/scissors and shows me who is going to
need the most help with fine motor. Kids have to be pretty severe to get physical
or occupational therapy but there are things teachers can do in class to help
fix many of the small issues. You can click HERE to see some of my fine motor centers from last year.
I will post more the first week of school too.
With my new sensory table (and yes you can get larger ones but I
wanted a small one), I will put beans, rice, noodles, sand, water, etc. in it.
You can hide letters, words, shapes, objects, etc. in it. Kids will LOVE it.
You could also put strips of paper with fun zigzag scissors and let kids
practice cutting in the tub. Anything you can do to get their little fingers
moving will help in all areas of learning eventually. J
And, because I lack self control in a bad way..I also got these things for my classroom. Ahhh…can you smell the new supplies?!! I LOVE IT!

    I would purchase a table. Since I will be beginning this year with a broken ankle I desperately need somewhere to meet with my small groups, since we won't be able to meet on the floor. 🙁

    I love this sensory table too! I have every year several students who have theses needs. Every year I have purchased things and have a basket these students go to for stress balls and wands, and other goodies. So, thank you for this chance.

    I'm a new Kindergarten teacher and could really use lots of supplies. I would love a sensory table and could use the giant tweezers too. I agree that we need to work on fine motor skills at this age in order for them to be able to cut with scissors, hold a pencil, etc. Thanks for sharing such an awesome gift!!! Cashman5@msn.com

    I need a book display shelf. Since I moved to first grade I don't have one. My books a are stacked in tubs and difficult to see. A display shelf would help children choose a book more easily.

    This is my first year teaching Kinders, and I am at a new school!! There are so many things I need for my new classroom, but I have to agree, a sensory table is at the top of my list!! 🙂

    Oh my gosh there are SO many things I need to get for my room. I want to get independent timers of some sort for my kids to keep track of how long they've been at a certain spot during readers workshop. I also want to get more magnet letters, numbers and I need more math manipulatives. Thanks for the chance to win!

    I would SO love one of those seating chart rugs! I put some of those interlocking alphabet foam pieces together for a seating area last year, but it got really dirty!

    I would do a little grocery shopping… for my Pretend & Learn Center that is!

    Fridge Food ($18.88 ) – Labels provide environmental print and would be fun for writing lists and write the room!

    Let's Play House! Grocery Cans ($9.99) – We could practice sorting them alphabetically, counting them, and even doing simple math stories using the cans.

    Slice & Bake Cookie Set ($18.88) – I would have my kiddos counting and patterning as they bake!

    Goodie Games ABC Cookies ($19.99) – These provide the perfect opportunity to practice names and spelling.

    Smart Snacks Alpha Pops ($17.99) – This one lends itself to matching, sorting, and spelling.

    Wooden Cutting Fruit Set ($19.99) – This would be great to discuss and encourage the use of new vocabulary, such as half, whole, slice, cut, and more.
