Peeps, it's almost Friday. That means it's time to break out into song, right? Right guys, right? ………….crickets! HAHA! I found this on Pinterest. Are you pinning with me? You should! My name is Crystal and I PIN A LOT! (Don't try and put me in a 12 step program, I don't have a problem, ehem.)
Okay…who is the teacher who forgot that today was Groundhog Day?
What? I am the only one who raised my hand? Okayyyy, wink, wink! I will take one for the team.
Well, I have been under the weather this week. This Texas weather is for the birds. Not sure which ones, but definitely birds. I now have a sinus infection, migraines have run amuck, and hormones! Don’t get me started on those. Don’t be jealous people! It stinks. Not to mention that apparently something else has been going around my class so kids have been dropping like flies.
Of course, I would never wish sickness over any child (hello, I am a mom! A sick kid is the worst!) BUT it is nice to have a smaller, quieter class. Too bad I WAS TOO SICK to enjoy it. Dang! I dug out my big girl panties this week and only missed one day of school so I could go to the doctor….and sit…and wait….and read a magazine….and wait…..and PAY $…..and sit….and get five minutes with three scripts, and $85 later I am in the process of being back in business. I am going to focus on the “back in business” part. Glass half full people!! J
So, back to Groundhog Day. THANK GOODNESS for Teachers Pay Teachers because I realized that it was February 2nd (apparently that is Groundhog Day every year…who knew?) about 7:25 a.m. and I had to pick up my kids at 7:35 a.m. So, I went over to my handy dandy computer, pulled up a few sweet lesson, selected print, grabbed a few good books, chart tablet, markers, United Streaming segment, and BAM! I was a teacher prepared with a good lesson. SWEEEETTTT!!!!
Thank you to Erin Eberhart and Christie Lamb for saving the day. You can find their cutie patootie Groundhog Day Units by clicking on their names. There were tons to choose from but I just did a quick click of the first ones that came up.
Here is what we did (the mini version).
This guy has some cray-z hair!
I LOVE this. She wrote “carit” for carrot! <3
I bet you didn’t know Phil was snazzy like this, huh? He’s got swagger! LOL J
Apparently we are going to have six more weeks of winter but let me tell you friends, Texas hasn't seen winter yet. So…I am not sure what the means for us.
Yesterday we had our QU Wedding. It was SO FUN! I will post pictures tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, it is the 100th day of school. ay yi yi…It’s going to be a long day. I am totally excited though. I went to the doctor again today and told him that whatever he was going to do to me, it COULD NOT interfere with my ability to go to school tomorrow because I canNOT miss the 100th day of school. Only a Kindergarten teacher can understand this apparently. LOL! Ok, that’s all I got. Must. Have. Sleep. J
Love and virtual hugs!! TGIF! Can I get an AMEN?! Don't forget to leave me a comment and let me know you made it through your week too!
I found this on Pinterest too…made me Laugh Out Loud. This guy definitely lives in Texas!!

Hey Crystal. You probably couldn't see that my hand was raised due to the blizzard that made it's way to CO {snow day-doing the happy dance} But, I didn't really forget ground hog day, my kiddos were so excited and eager to learn more about dinosaurs than what that crazy little ground hog was predicting. I hope you get to feeling better!
Oh, and Sara – love the pintervention – that had me crakin' up!!!
