Greetings new friends! I’m Crystal. I’m a Texas based wife/mom/blogger/consultant/doerofallthethings. For almost seven years, I have wrote about my life in the classroom, curriculum I create, travels, mom life and my family. When I re-branded from Kreative in Kinder to Kreative in Life in 2016, my focus changed a little. Before, my heart was to write about educating the whole child. Now, my heart is to write in ways to educate/love/lead the whole teacher. Teachers are not only teachers. We are spouses, parents, friends, etc. I want to bring you exciting articles on travel, marriage, family, faith, adoption and so much more. The sky is the limit!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Nick, for over 16 years. I can’t put into words how much I love this man. He is my favorite person in the whole world!
We were fortunate to be foster parents about fourteen years ago, when we met and later adopted our three kids, Grace, James, and Joseph. I am so blessed to be their mom. They were born from my heart. My boys are both in high school and my daughter is in college. All three of my kids have either ADD or ADHD, are dyslexic, have other learning disabilities and my youngest is on the spectrum. I share this because I write about these things hoping it can help other moms and teachers with loving and teaching children like mine. My family puts the FUN in dysFUNctional and it totally works for us. Being a mom has made me a better teacher and writer. As you can see from a family photo session (many moons ago, ha), we are a big hot mess!
I love to travel and have created traveling monsters out of my children. It’s so important to me that they have cultural experiences and get the most out of life. My husband on the other hand only likes to go places that you can get to via car, but we are working on that. Luckily, that hasn’t clipped my wings!
I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Teaching & Learning with Technology. I have worked in education for over twelve years as a teacher, teacher’s aide, assistant Montessori teacher and substitute teacher. I spent the last seven years in the classroom teaching kindergarten. I LOVE living life through the eyes of a young child. I also love working with teachers and helping them to reclaim their joy in the most rewarding profession.
I also love fashion. I would like to refer to myself as “fluffy”, also known as a plus size model…but not actually a model. Ha!
I have been presenting workshops for teachers for over five years. I love working with educators! I hope my enthusiasm and love for learning in contagious and that when you leave my sessions, you feel encouraged and inspired.
I am an open book. You will find me completely transparent about daily struggles, infertility issues, etc. Life is not cookie cutter so please don’t look to me for perfection. I also share with you my incredible faith that is the foundation of my life and the joy I have found in this journey. I look forward to getting to know you and hope you stop by often.
