Good news all around!
First, MY good news…my new computer came Thursday afternoon so I am back in business. I am so excited. If I could do a cart wheel I would, but that defies the laws of gravity I am sure. EEK! I haven’t really created anything since November and I haven’t blogged as much as I would like to because my old “more experienced” computer was a hot mess. Seriously, I would have to restart my computer six times to connect to the internet and I have great internet. I think I just wore her out. Yes, anything I own is a she or her. My car is a she. Her name is Pearl. I haven’t named the new laptop yet. Any suggestions?
Anywho, yay for an upgrade! And double YAY for a three day weekend so I can get some units finished and uploaded. I am totally not going to take up your time and reading efforts to tell you that I have been sick with a stomach bug since Thursday night and I am not going to ask you to feel sorry for me one bit. Nope, not going to do it! L I am just going to talk about how much I love my new computer…even though I haven’t been able to play on it much since there is a beast in my tummy right now. J
So, on to the good news for YOU! This may be the longest post shortest GIVEAWAY in history but here ya go. You may or may not know but I am presenting at the upcoming Everything Kindergarten Expo. I am SO nervous EXCITED!! As an attendee it is super cool because you can watch from home in your pajamas, you can pause and potty, and even eat and drink DURING the presentation! What? I know…shocking! And that’s not all (I’m sounding like an infomercial..haha), you get a totally fabulous goodie bag, which is worth way more than the cost of the conference. Anywho, I swear I am lacking serious focus. I’m sorry! I think my “to do list” is just slapping me in the face over and over making me loose concentration. Dang!
I will be giving away THREE tickets to the expo this Monday, as in January 16th, 2012. If you have already purchased a ticket, think about someone you can gift the ticket too. You would be the bestest friend in the world! If you are like my district, we don’t have funding for outside trainings so this is a great opportunity to learn a few tricks and teaching treasures to share with your kiddos. All you have to do is comment on this post and tell me why you want to attend.
Of course, I would LOVE it if you would follow my FACEBOOK, and it would also be a FANTASTIC idea if you subscribed to the VIRTUAL TEACHING EXPO NEWSLETTER (good stuff, click the name to take you there) so you keep up to date on the latest training opportunities, BUT all you have to do to enter is simply post in the comment box and answer my question.
Easy peasy!!
I will draw three names Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. central standard time. Make sure you include your email address. Remember, you will earn a professional development certificate with credited hours for participating in the training. How cool is that?!
So, do you have off on Monday? I will post my penguin day pictures on Monday after the giveaway is over. It was so much fun, minus the stomach issues but I am not complaining. J Everything Kindergarten Expo Launches Jan 28th 2012. Pre-register for only $14.95. View at your own convenience! Goodie bag included!
Good luck!

Hi Crystal! I just found your blog and I am so inspired by it! I work with 3-5 year olds in a Head Start, but my career goal is to become a public school Kindergarten teacher. Where I'm currently working we aren't allowed to do any worksheets with the children, which I feel is not preparing the 5 year olds for when they get to public Kindergarten. I need some help and new ideas for getting these 5 year olds ready for Kindergarten! Since I work with 3-5 year olds I have not been provided with much training on school-readiness for the 5 year olds, and my employment will not be providing me with any. So I am seeking it out on my own, and would love to participate in your conference! I am applying for a public Kindergarten position for this coming fall, and if I get it, I want to be as prepared as possible! Also, I need a free ticket because I just got engaged (yahoo!) and we are saving every last penny for our wedding July 27, 2013 as we are funding it ourselves (both our parents are unable to help- mine were recently divorced and suffering financial difficulties, and his are supporting their oldest child & his son).
Thank you!!!!

I would love to attend this expo. Like you, my district cannot afford outside conferences or speakers for the teachers as a whole, just the teacher leaders. The kinder teachers in the district do not get the opportunity to get together and share their ideas as often as I would like either. I am always looking for new methods and ideas to keep my kinders excited about being in school. For most of my kinders, this is their first experience with formal learning and I want to make sure it is a great memory in the making for them.

This is my second year teaching kindergarten, but my third year experiencing it overall. I was a student teacher/intern for a full year before I started teaching the grade level. I had the most creative, wonderful mentor helping me, but even she felt that she could always grow and learn from others. She taught me to go out and research teacher blogs, get involved on Twitter and Facebook, and now to search Pinterest for awesome and exciting ideas. Teaching isn't just what I do. It's who I am and I am completely addicted to it! Going to this expo would make me like a kid in a candy store again! I would absolutely love it!

Ok, so here is why I want to attend. I hate PD. There I said it and I have a good reason, they are never directed to specific grade levels (even when they are suppose to be). Here's the other reason I hate PD, can't attend in my jammies. However, if I can attend a PD in my jammies and it is grade level (with some AMAZING Kinder teachers leading it), well hot diggity I NEED to be there. So pick me pick me pick me…I may need to buy new jammies for the event!

I have already gotten SO many great ideas from browsing everyone's blogs and I am so eager to learn more and gather even more ideas. I am so grateful to have found a place where teachers have such unity and collaborative spirits. I'm really excited about the chance to attend the Expo!

I would love a ticket to the expo. I am teaching Kindergarten again after 7 years of teaching another grade. So much has changed since then. This would be such a blessing.
Thank you!!!

I would love to attend the conference via net. I live in Canada and don't have many opportunities to attend conferences for Kindergarten. Kindergarten seems to be a "lost" grade to many and we don't get a lot of support.
P.S.I love your blog!

I would love to attend the Everything Kindergarten Expo. I am teaching Kindergarten for the 10th year, and things continue to change. I am always looking for new ideas and for ways to meet the challenges of keeping kindergarten fun while still meeting all the requirements placed upon us. Thank you for the opportunity to enter your contest! I wish you well in your presentation.

I would love to win. I'm a stay at home mom to 2 girls that since they are both in school now (kindergarten and 5th grade) I went back to college to finish my early childhood education degree so I can be a kindergarten teacher.
thanks so much for this giveaway and chance to win.

I love the idea of a virtual conference as attending a conference is so expensive when you start adding up the registration, travel and accommodations.
