Greetings friends! Feliz Navidad!!! I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas…sing with me! Seriously, just checking in to make sure you know that I am in deed still alive. J I know you have been checking the back of your milk cartons for my picture, but I am not missing, I promise! I have been knee deep in projects and spending much needed time with my family. My two oldest children celebrated their birthdays this week. I can’t believe they are 13 and 15 now. Whooza! I mean, I know with all the crazy hormones, teenager tantrums, screaming and tears (and I am not just talking about me), I knew they were getting old but OMG! They are headed towards driving, dating, adulthood. Hold on…must obtain adult beverage to finish this post….
Anywho, people say you need a book on how to care for a baby but seriously the books should come in when these kids are teenagers. They are mini adults with bigger drama and attitudes. I think this the last year I will buy Christmas presents for them. I mean, for now on, they will get money. Or, I will take them to pick something out and then wrap it because these mini adult people are pickier than picky! Um, I think I have missed this whole blogging thing more than I thought. This is sounding like therapy. Maybe I should look into that…naaa, yall are much cheaper! Enough about my kids, God love ‘em! J
I survived the last week of school and our Holiday Party. It was a whirl wind of a last day but I think the kids had fun. I am totally not looking forward to going back to school on January 2nd. Not that I don’t want to go back to school but it’s just the whole 2nd thing. If it was the 3rd, I think I would be okay with that but not the 2nd. Something about that date makes me want to hurl myself over a cliff. Well, I hope you are done with school and on your “break”, I mean the hustle and bustle to shop til you drop, wrap, and then slave in the kitchen over cookies and a 20 pound turkey. Enjoy that, ok?!
Love and virtual hugs to each and every one of you!!

Hooray!!! I've missed you, Crystal! Happy Birthday to your kiddos – my oldest niece started driving this year and it killed me. Killed me. But I do love that she enjoys taking my car to fill it up with gas for me.
I can't believe all of the people that have to go back on the 2nd. It's cruel. That's the "federal" holiday – no mail, no banks, etc. It just shouldn't be happening. I won't tell you when I go back. You really might go through with hurling yourself off a cliff.

We were scheduled to go back on the 2nd but were notified via email this week that since it is a federal holiday they can not make us be in school therefore we will return on the 3rd and an extra day will be tacked on to the end of our year. I don't get it though because we are in school on several other federal holidays – not that I'm complaining! I'm glad it worked out this way!! My son will be 15 in a couple months, my daughter is 13 I totally get you on that one!!

UGH! You just reminded me what I am in denial about…going back to school on the 2nd! Boo! We have a work day that Friday. Why couldn't the work day be on Monday???? Because the High School doesn't want it that way. Each campus votes on a calendar at the end of the year to be our calendar for the next school year. The HS has the most teachers so their vote always cancels everyone else's out.
Yes, Kristin you need to keep that info to yourself! =)

You will survive this but it can be rough road to say the least. Once you get past this they really do turn into lovely adults and you can pat yourself on the back. I still shutter over those years will the constant dramas. We have to have a talk! They are lucky to have such a great mom and I will remind you of this when you start doubting it! Happy Holidays. I can't wait to see you at the expo friend

Crystal, I have to agree totally with the whole teenage drama. I have a 14yr. daughter (thank God for only one)who is all about drama!!! She was the perfect 2yr. old. What happened to those good ole days. Anyway, back to Kindergarten, our boss was so nice, we don't got back until Jan. 9th!!! Please don't hate me! As we all know, vacation is never vacation for a teacher because she is always planning for the next day. Happy Holidays!!! Becky

Crystal,
We so need a Texas teacher meet up – maybe next Summer! 🙂 I need some teen tips, (I have a 12 yr old that acts like she is already a teenager! UGH!) I have to go back to students on Jan 2nd as well! Oh, and just like Heather, our HS picks the calendar too! Wow, I love reading blogs and realizing how alike we all are! 🙂 Happy Holidays! Oh, and I signed up for the Expo! Super excited! Can't wait! 🙂
