From right here in the good old USA to traveling overseas, there are so many great destinations to plan a trip to this year that can’t be missed. Below are just a few of some hot “new” destinations that are being discovered as the perfect vacation spot.
New Zealand. There is way more to this gorgeous country than the backdrop to The Lord of the Rings. You will discover an amazing food scene, eclectic shopping, and scenery that will blow your mind. Take a trip here during the summer months and discover wine tours and winding roads that lead to harbor views. You should start in Napier and drive down the North Island and take the car ferry to cross the Cook Strait to Picton and the famous Marlborough Sounds. Stunning photography moments here!
Scotland. If it is a relaxing getaway you seek this year then it is your time to head to Scotland. Stay in the capital city of Edinburgh where you can explore the many museums, and musical theaters, not to mention the good restaurants. If you visit here in the fall, the weather is perfect for exploring the history and interesting culture of this country.
Asheville, North Carolina. If you love the mountains, then this is the place for you. This Blue Ridge Mountains area is home to the Biltmore Estate put the tour of this amazing place on your to-do list. And if you want to be pampered for a night, book a room at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. For a more rustic adventure, there are many mountain retreats and a cool art and music culture here that is sure to satisfy any weekend traveler.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. “Steel City” may not be your dream getaway when you are thinking of planning your next vacation, but don’t rule out this American city as a place to visit this year. Here’s why in a nutshell…for arts and culture, this is the birthplace of the one and only Andy Warhol and there is a museum here with the largest collection of his work. There is a hot food scene here that has been up and coming the last few years that is worth checking out. Last but not least, there are many affordable boutique hotels here that will make you feel like you are in another world.
Bermuda. This tropical destination hasn’t always been a hot place to go, but it’s bounced back from financial troubles and is currently starting to attract new travelers. No only are there pristine beaches to relax upon, but there are also resorts to match. The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club which is over 130 year old sprawling hotel that has been updated to a more contemporary resort. Bermuda has also become the land of wealthy investors due to the lower cost of construction. Book it now!
Cape Town, South Africa. This place has to be on everyone’s bucket list for a number of reasons. It is one of the most picturesque places in the world for sure and you can see so much culture and history at every turn. There are wine regions that are incomparable to any in South Africa so feel free to drink up and travel on a tour through scenic Table Mountain. Try to visit in the months of October through February which is summer here.
Guadalupe Islands. Otherwise referred to as “Gwanda,” this Caribbean and French island area that includes five in all, is and always will be a destination in itself. It’s nestled between Antigua and Dominica and here you can not only learn all about the many cultures, but eat like your are from here as well. From Afro-Indian, French, and Caribbean roots, you can stay and explore these islands pretty cheaply too.
Hamburg, Germany. You may only think of Berlin as a hot destination when Germany comes to mind. Well, think again because Hamburg is Germany’s “gateway to the world.” It is one of the largest port cities with canals crossing throughout. Take a wonderful cruise on the canals and book a stay in one of the many guesthouses in the city’s revitalized area known as HafenCity. One of the biggest draws for 2017 is the state of the art concert hall complex called Elbphilharmonie. You will love the acoustics and stunning views from high atop this venue.
